Overview

Revolve Solutions served as prime contractor for the Marine Corps' 250th Birthday Program from December 2024 through May 2026. Working for the Marine Corps Communication Directorate at Headquarters Marine Corps, Revolve planned and executed a nationwide commemoration covering strategic communications, event production, paid and earned media, community relations, website and social media content, and campaign analytics. The program opened at Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans in February 2025 and continued with Marine Week events in Nashville, Atlanta, Boston, and Chicago.

Challenge

The Marine Corps needed one team to carry a year-long celebration into major cities, each with its own venues, permits, security requirements, and civic stakeholders. Every event had to meet Marine Corps brand standards and Department of War security requirements, run on compressed schedules, and support the Communication Directorate's recruiting, retention, and community relations goals.

Solution

  • Strategic communications planning. Researched each host market to identify audiences, civic leaders, and influencers, then built messaging for social media, web, print, broadcast, and out-of-home channels using the research, planning, implementation, and evaluation (RPIE) process.

  • Marine Week event production. Handled site selection, city permits, insurance, security, and vendor contracts for audio-visual, signage, staffing, catering, and tents. Activations included Spanish Plaza inside the NFL Clean Zone at Super Bowl LIX, the NASCAR Superspeedway and CMA Fest in Nashville, and College Football Kickoff Weekend in Atlanta. In New Orleans the program opened with a flyover before the game and a four-day multimedia exhibit at the NFL Experience.

  • Paid media and geofencing. Planned and placed paid media across broadcast, print, digital, social, streaming TV, and digital out-of-home. Geofences around event venues, high schools and colleges, military bases, veterans' organizations, and service project sites delivered location-based ads and returned dwell time, engagement, and conversion data the team used to adjust messaging mid-campaign.

  • Website and social media. Produced content for the 250th Anniversary website and Marine Corps social channels with the Communication Directorate's web team, including images, video, interviews, press releases, and human-interest stories. Each event followed a content calendar that began three months out and ran through post-event follow-up.

  • Community relations. Organized service projects in each Marine Week city, including school visits, veterans' home visits, park cleanups, playground builds, and food bank support, and brought elected officials and figures from music and sports into concerts, speaking roles, and media appearances.

  • Public relations and media training. Drafted and distributed press releases, coordinated coverage with national and local outlets, and trained Marines in public-facing roles on message development, interview technique, and crisis communications.

  • Promotional products and accessibility. Designed and shipped more than 100,000 promotional items, including t-shirts, patches, lanyards, guitar picks, bracelets, magnets, and keychains, and produced Section 508 compliant versions of documents, video, and web content.

Impact

Revolve delivered the Super Bowl LIX activation, five Marine Week events, and the national commemorative program with a team of 30, including subcontractors and site-specific vendors, coordinating with more than 1,000 Marines over the year. Staffing averaged 10 FTE and scaled to 25 during event surges. Across the 2025 Marine Week markets, earned media delivered 1.228 billion impressions across broadcast, print, digital, and social, and posts and partnerships with influencers including NASCAR, Lee Greenwood, and Riley Duckman added 972 million organic social impressions. Social campaigns generated more than 8,000 mentions of @marines accounts. Paid advertising ran at a $6.82 cost per thousand impressions (CPM), within the industry target of $5 to $10. More than 60 Marine Band performances reached at least 314,000 people, and the band was featured on FOX & Friends in Nashville. In New Orleans, Osprey pilots Maj. Justin Pitcock and Lt. Col. Mike Thiessen were interviewed on The Pat McAfee Show before the flyover. Every surveyed market rated the Marine Corps at 85 percent favorability or higher, and favorability grew an average of 4.5 percent over 30 days.
